Certification preparation

Software Engineering Interview Preparation

A 4-day, 32-hour course where you practise coding challenges, system design, and behavioural interviews through guided exercises and feedback.

32 hours (4 days) Professional Software Development

THE BIG PICTURE

About this course

There is no single awarding-body certification for general software engineering interviews; this course prepares you for common technical and behavioural interview formats used by employers across the industry. Across four days you work through algorithms, data structures, coding patterns, testing, and system design trade-offs, then apply them in paired drills and mock interviews. You will write code, estimate complexity, design systems to a brief, and receive structured, actionable feedback. There is no external exam attached to this course. Hiring processes vary by employer and may include timed coding tests, take-home tasks, system design discussions, pair programming, and behavioural interviews; no voucher or certificate is issued for these. The awarding body owns the certification scheme. MindClick provides training and exam preparation and is not an accredited or authorised partner.

What you’ll learn

  • Analyse problems and select suitable algorithms and data structures with clear complexity reasoning
  • Implement readable, tested solutions under time constraints using a language of choice
  • Apply common coding patterns (two-pointer, sliding window, BFS/DFS, heap/priority queue) to new problems
  • Design scalable systems by clarifying requirements, estimating capacity, and making justified trade-offs
  • Communicate decisions clearly in behavioural and technical discussions using structured frameworks
  • Debug, refactor, and review code efficiently, articulating improvements and risks
  • Plan and conduct effective mock interviews, giving and receiving targeted feedback
  • Prepare effectively for typical coding and system design assessments, including timing, environment, and practice resources
