THE BIG PICTURE

About this course

The Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) is an entry-level credential awarded by the Project Management Institute (PMI). It demonstrates knowledge of foundational project management concepts, methods, and terminology used across predictive, agile, and hybrid environments. Across three days you work through the current CAPM exam domains with practical application. You create core artefacts such as a project charter, WBS, schedule, risk register, user stories, and a stakeholder map. Hands-on activities, walk-throughs, and daily practice questions help connect concepts to realistic project scenarios. The CAPM exam is a closed-book test delivered at Pearson VUE test centres or online proctored. It comprises 150 questions over 180 minutes and covers four domains: fundamentals, predictive methods, agile frameworks, and business analysis. The certification is valid for three years and can be renewed by earning professional development units (PDUs) through PMI’s Continuing Certification Requirements programme. Project Management Institute (PMI) owns the certification scheme. MindClick provides training and exam preparation and is not an accredited or authorised partner.

What you’ll learn

  • Explain CAPM scope, the PMI context, and key project management terms and roles
  • Differentiate predictive, agile, and hybrid life cycles and select an approach to suit a scenario
  • Produce a project charter, define scope, and break work down using a WBS
  • Build a schedule with dependencies, estimates, critical path, and basic resource considerations
  • Identify, analyse, and plan responses for project risks; outline quality and change control basics
  • Apply agile techniques including user stories, backlog refinement, estimation, and Kanban flow
  • Use core business analysis practices: stakeholder analysis, elicitation, modelling, and traceability
  • Create a personal study plan and complete a timed mock exam aligned to the CAPM content outline
