Neuroscience for Change Certification
A 3-day course where learners explore brain responses to change and practise tools, cases and exam-style tasks for the certification exam.
THE BIG PICTURE
About this course
Neuroscience for Change Certification is a professional credential awarded by APMG International. It recognises the application of evidence-informed brain science to leading and supporting change across teams and organisations. Across three days (09:00–17:30), the course covers brain fundamentals, threat and reward, habits and learning, motivation and energy, attention and decision-making, communication and engagement, the PEPE model, and ethical practice. You will analyse scenarios, design interventions, run peer clinics and receive feedback on practical tasks aligned to the syllabus. The certification is assessed by an examination set by APMG International. You will receive guidance on exam registration and rules as published by APMG, and complete timed practice and a scored mock to prepare. APMG International owns the certification scheme. MindClick provides training and exam preparation and is not an accredited or authorised partner.
What you’ll learn
- Explain core brain processes relevant to change, including attention, memory and neuroplasticity
- Describe threat/reward responses to uncertainty and apply the PEPE model to analyse reactions
- Design communication and engagement approaches that reduce cognitive load and build psychological safety
- Plan habit and behaviour change using cues, routines and reinforcement suited to workplace change
- Recognise cognitive biases and error detection signals in decision-making during change
- Integrate neuroscience-informed practices with existing change frameworks and ethical considerations
- Answer exam-style questions and build a personal study plan to prepare confidently for the certification exam

- 10:45–12:15 · Threat and reward in uncertainty; prediction error and the PEPE model overview
- 13:15–14:30 · Attention, working memory and cognitive load in change communications
- 14:45–15:30 · Habits and behaviour change: cues, routines, rewards and sustaining new ways of working
- 15:45–16:30 · Motivation and energy regulation: resilience routines for individuals and teams
- 16:30–17:00 · Stakeholder empathy mapping through brain-based lenses
- 17:00–17:30 · Exam-style practice questions: key terms and short scenario items
Put it into practice
In teams, map a current or past change initiative onto the PEPE model to identify likely pain points and energy peaks/valleys. Propose two brain-friendly adjustments to messaging or timing.

- 16:30–17:30 · Exam-style practice questions: multi-step scenarios and justification of choices
Put it into practice
Facilitate a short case clinic: one learner presents a challenging stakeholder scenario while peers apply bias checks and safety-building techniques. Capture interventions and anticipated brain-state shifts.
